3 Answers Reflect 3 Different Characteristics

During 16th century, there were chaos and wars in Japan. That period has been called as the Sengoku period, it is when most mighty warriors and brave samurais were born.

Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu and three of the most powerful and famous landlord by that time. Hideyoshi is the subordinate of Nobunaga, while Ieyasu is the loyal friend and ally of Nobunaga. The power of controlling Japan just slipped from the hand of Nobunaga, to Hideyoshi and finally Ieyasu. This is how destiny went.

This historical stories of Sengoku Period are very famous among Japanese, and nearly everyone of them know about it. It's like Three Kingdoms and Genghiz Khan for chinese history, Alexander the Great and Troy for western histories, Hang Tuah and Kesultanan Melayu for our countryland's history. I would highly recommend you to google search it to know futher about it.

Let's begin with their conversation.

Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu were observing birds. Someone brought up a question. What would you do if the bird is not singing.

Hideyoshi : I will do anything to make the bird happy so that it will sing, like providing it with food.

Ieyasu : I will just simply wait until the bird want to sing.

Nobunaga : I will kill it. Why should I do anything else?

At the end, Nobunaga nearly take over all Japan. However, he was being betrayed by his own retainer and was killed in a resort. This incident is well-known as Incident at Honnouji, the Japanese still mention about it nowadays.

Then the power took over by Hideyoshi, and slipped to Ieyasu's hand when Hideyoshi died. Ieyasu lead his troop to defeat Hideyoshi's son and completely annihilated Toyotomi's Forces after the win at Sekigahara.

The story told us that "Patience is the key to success." If you are interested, please search it. Perhaps one day we can sit down and chat about it. Until now, none of my friends know about story in Sengoku Period. Hope that there will be one soon. ^^

The Reasons Why I Admire Guan Yu

Nowadays, people especially taoist worship him as one of the god. Yeah, I truly agree that he is god. He is well-known as "God of War" during his period, the era of Three Kingdoms. He is the model of righteousness, virtue and discipline.

Description of General Guan Yu:

• Sworn brother of Liu Bei and Zhang Fei
• Red-faced
• Long beard
• His blade, Green Moon Dragon
• Arrogant
• Loyal
• Usually people fear the strong, oppress the weak, he is the opposite
• A fearsome general in fighting, one of the mightest warrior during that period

I will summarise what I want to say in a short conversation.

Restrict prefects like Sun Jian, Liu Bei have their own land. While Liu Bei still a weak forces, Cao Cao was already the Prime Minister, using the current Emperor of Han, to control the land, do what he wants to achieve his ambitions.

He launched an attack on Liu Bei, the three brothers lost contact with each other. While Guan Yu, who intended to protect Liu Bei's family which fall into Cao Cao's hand, traded with Cao Cao. He will help Cao Cao to win a few battles before he return to his brother' side.

Cao Cao has heard a lot about Guan Yu. He intended to persuade Guan Yu to serve him.

Cao Cao : Guan Yu, this is the new clothes that made of the best quality silk in the land. I send it as a gift to you to appreciate your service.

Guan Yu : Thanks a lot!

* Guan Yu wear the new clothes inside, with his original old clothes covered it outside. *

Cao Cao : General Guan, why did you still wearing that old piece of worn clothes. You should throw it away and wear the new clothes.

Guan Yu : That's the clothes that my brother gave me. I wear it on outside, so when I see it everyday, it's like seeing my brother everyday.

Finally, he kept his promise, killed the strongest enemy officer for Cao Cao's Forces, left Cao Cao's side and reunited with his brothers. The story of Three Kingdoms continue on...

The Romance of Three Kingdoms

The China series "The New Romance of Three Kingdoms, 新三国演义" is finally out. Recently watching the series.

My hobbies and interests all lie in wars, weapons and tactics when I study in secondary school. I spent almost all my time in studying and doing research about these stuffs. Troy, Alexander the Great, China wars history, mongolia history like Genghis Khan's biblio, my favourite Japanese War Period (Sengoku Period), World War I and World War II. I just love it pretty much. Especially when the 'three kingdoms' and 'japanese sengoku period' has been made into game. E.g. Dynasty Warriors series and Samurai Warriors series.

Talking about the three kingdoms era, it started frm A.D. 184 until A.D. 264.

As you can see from this map, the three kingdoms included Wei Forces 魏, Shu Forces 蜀 and Wu Forces 吴. I think most of my friends already knew about this. Because it is one of the most popular story among the China history. It is also a hot topic among China forum baidu.

Perhap I will give a brief introduction to the three main character in Shu Forces with my own opinions.

The founder of Shu Forces is Liu Bei 刘备. It is the weakest and the smallest forces among the three kingdoms. However, the forces got the finest warriors and the war tactic genius Zhuge Liang 诸葛亮. In fact, he is not only a genius in war tactics. He in genius in everythings, including politics managing, debating and also creating new weapons. Wow! Everyone should know that right?

Now I am going to talk about Liu Bei and two of his sworn brothers, Guan Yu 关羽 and Zhang Fei 张飞. In san guo, everything is about virtue, honour, righteousness and justice. Do you all believe in things like that? Liu, Guan and Zhang made an oath in a peach garden. "Although we born on the different days, but we hope to die on the same day". Then, the three brother pursue their ambition together, and always loyal to each other.

Guan Yu

He is the warrior that people keep worshipped about even until today. His appearance:

Once he has been gave a new cloth as a gift from another land lord Cao Cao 曹操, anyway he is wearing the old cloth that he already had with the new cloth cover inside. Cao Cao asking why. He answered that the old cloth is made by his sworn brother, Liu Bei and with wearing the old cloth outside, it's like he can see his brother everyday although they were apart by that time. Cao Cao was totally speechless and admire Guan Yu's loyalthy to his brother. And the three brother reunited at last. This is just one of the example

Zhang Fei

To make the post shorter I am not uploading photo for him. Straightforward, bad-tempered and honourable often best to describe him. Same with Guan Yu, he is one of the mightest warriors among that time. They two contributed a lot in building the empire of Liu Bei.

Now I am just wandering. How can Liu Bei know such trustworthy friends, sworn brothers to be accurate at the first sight and swearing an oath with them? Haha, is that the sincerity and kindness of Liu Bei made him know such a great friends and helpful partner in life?
